About Smart Gate

Smart Gate was built to solve a specific problem that international companies face every day in Saudi Arabia: real capability cannot reach the market without a real local counterparty.

Why Smart Gate

exists?

In 2017, Smart Gate was founded in Saudi Arabia with a clear purpose:
to close the gap between international delivery capability and Saudi
market access. The Kingdom was accelerating. Demand for specialized international expertise was growing. But the path from capability to contract was blocked by a fundamental structural barrier — Saudi contracting law requires a registered local entity for most project engagements.

International companies faced a difficult choice: commit to opening a local office before having validated clients and revenue, or walk away from real opportunities. Neither option served the market well.

Smart Gate is the third option. A Saudi-registered commercial entity that takes the contract, leads the delivery, and enables international partners to operate in the Kingdom under a disciplined framework — without premature local commitment.

Part of an established Saudi ecosystem

Smart Gate operates alongside two sister entities — Estidama (established 2015, capability development and operational readiness) and Operon (large-scale national program architecture) — each separately registered, each serving its own Saudi client base.

When those clients require international expertise to expand delivery scope, Smart Gate becomes the contracting and delivering counterparty. The relationships are independent. The market knowledge is shared.

Smart Gate’s role is distinct: it is the contracting and delivering entity. It does not deliver training, program architecture, or technical
implementation directly. It holds the contracts — and the accountability — under one Saudi-registered name.
